Behaviour Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated, confident, and caring Behaviour Support Assistant to work within a secondary school setting, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This role focuses on helping young people who may present with SEN, SEMH needs, or behavioural difficulties, enabling them to remain settled, focused, and engaged with their learning.
This is an active and highly rewarding position, ideal for someone who enjoys building strong relationships and making a genuine difference to pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support.
This Role Would Suit Individuals With Experience In:
* Teaching Assistant or Learning Support roles
* Youth work, mentoring, or pastoral support
* Sports coaching or team leadership
* Graduate roles related to education, psychology, or childhood studies
* Support work or social care
* Armed forces or similar structured environments
* Any role involving behaviour support or SEN
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing 1:1 and small‑group behaviour support
* Supporting students with emotional regulation and self‑management
* Promoting positive behaviour using consistent strategies
* Developing trusting, supportive relationships with pupils
* Encouraging classroom engagement and participation
* Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams
We’re Looking For Someone Who Has:
* A calm, consistent approach to behaviour support
* Strong communication skills and confidence working with teenagers
* Patience, resilience, and a proactive mindset
* The ability to work effectively as part of a school team
* A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
