Offer description

‘Think Differently’ to inspire young people to overcome all barriers and achieve their dreams. This is the Vision Statement of Think Differently Education Trust (TDET). Do you want to have a positive impact on some of the most vulnerable children’s lives in Birmingham? Do you want to work in an organisation that recognises the benefits of a good work/life balance for their workforce? Do you want to work in an organisation that invests heavily in CPD and allocates additional training days to develop their staff? If you have answered ‘yes’ to all these questions, join our team! We are looking for a Head of Art to monitor the delivery of the activity across James Brindley Centres and to ensure high standards in classroom practice, organisation and curriculum assessment. Many of our Young People have gaps in their education and we strive to implement creative teaching strategies to reduce the impact of educational disadvantage, enabling all our Young People to access learning and make expected progress. You should be passionate about developing and supporting the needs of the whole child and committed to enabling all pupils to thrive. We are looking for a qualified teacher with tenacity, positivity and experience of teaching the subject at KS3 and KS4. You should have QTS and a track record as a consistently good practitioner. If you have provided an email address, we will use that for correspondence, please ensure you check your junk/spam inboxes. If your application is shortlisted, we will contact you within 2 to 3 weeks of the closing date. As part of our recruitment checks, an online search will be undertaken on all shortlisted candidates. This search does not form part of the shortlisting process and you will have the opportunity to discuss any issues of concern that may arise from this search at the interview.
