Quality Engineer
Location: Stamford - easily commutable from Peterborough, Corby, Kettering, Oakham, Grantham, Bourne, Market Deeping, Leicester.
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience
Hours: Full-time, permanent
Our client, an established engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support continuous improvement, product quality, and right-first-time manufacturing performance across a busy operations facility.
This role is central to ensuring that high-quality, electro-mechanical products are built efficiently and consistently. You’ll work closely with the Quality Manager, Operations, and Engineering teams to drive problem resolution, reduce faults and rework, and strengthen the manufacturing process from end to end.
Key responsibilities for Quality Engineer include:
Working collaboratively with Operations and Engineering to resolve manufacturing issues quickly and effectively
Leading or supporting product and process quality improvement projects
Implementing corrective actions that reduce defect levels and rework time
Using robust problem-solving methodologies (RCA/8D) to identify root causes and prevent recurrence
Evaluating and troubleshooting electro-mechanical build and assembly processes
Reviewing and analysing production quality data as part of formal Quality Review activity
Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and supporting a strong right-first-time culture
Ensuring manufacturing documentation (SOPs, work instructions, standards) is accurate and effectively used
Quality Engineer - Essential Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (or demonstrable equivalent experience)
5+ years’ experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of electro-mechanical engineering principles
Proven experience delivering RCA/8D investigations and meaningful corrective actions
Sound knowledge of manufacturing documentation and production processes
