Overview As a Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in empowering adults with learning disabilities and complex needs to live independently and safely within supported living environments. Whether you’re assisting with daily activities, encouraging community engagement, or simply being a friendly face, your work will have a meaningful impact on the lives of those you support. Responsibilities Provide person-centred care and support tailored to individual needs. Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks. Promote independence and encourage individuals to achieve their goals. Support individuals to access the community, attend appointments, and participate in social activities. Follow care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures to ensure safety and well-being. Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues and other professionals. Qualifications Prior experience in care or support work is desirable but not essential – we value your passion and willingness to learn. A genuine interest in supporting vulnerable adults and improving their quality of life. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships. Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights, and weekends. Willingness to complete all required training and compliance checks. Day-to-Day A day as a Support Worker will be varied and fulfilling. You might start your morning helping someone prepare breakfast and plan their day, spend the afternoon accompanying them to a community activity, and finish your shift by ensuring they’re settled and comfortable for the evening.
