Director - AI Enablement and Engagement
Group AI Management and Strategy (AIMS) team is responsible for developing and implementing Group-wide strategic programs across HSBC aimed at accelerating the commercialisation and delivery of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) across HSBC. Key areas of focus include responsible development practices, common platforms and capabilities, AI technology enablement, governance, and the Group-wide AI Strategy.
In this fantastic new role, you will join a growing team to lead Group-wide AI Enablement and Engagement. This is a critical role for HSBC that will shape the culture, talent, capability development, and organisational design that support the bank’s Group AI Strategy. This is a unique opportunity to drive impact at the intersection of AI innovation and human capital.
In this role, duties will include:
* Designing and delivering people strategy for AI/ML functions (data science, AI engineering, Responsible AI).
* Building and managing AI/ML talent pipelines with external partnerships.
* Leading AI/ML learning and development design, implementation, and adoption.
* Shaping organisational structures that enable high-performing AI/ML teams.
* Defining and monitoring metrics for AI talent engagement, retention, and progression.
* Acting as the bridge between AI leadership, HR, and business units to embed cultural transformation.
To be successful in this role you should have the following skills:
* Proven track record in organisational development or HR strategy within AI/ML technology-driven contexts.
* Direct experience designing and executing workforce strategies in AI/ML, data science, or advanced tech domains.
* Strong background in learning and development program design, especially technical upskilling initiatives.
* Demonstrable success building external talent pipelines (universities, hubs, industry partnerships).
* Experience shaping culture around emerging technologies (responsible AI, digital transformation, or similar).
* High-level stakeholder management across technical leadership, HR, and business functions.
* Evidence of leading cultural transformation programmes in complex, global organisations.
This role is based in London on a hybrid basis.
