Activities of the team/department that this role will operate in;
Milton Keynes contract but some travel between other depots may be required.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Commercial Manager to join the senior management team of the Milton Keynes business unit (BU) a Term Services Contract (TSC). The role will predominately be based on the Milton Keynes TSC, however there may be a requirement to travel between the operational depots. The Commercial Manager will manage the commercial functions and governance of all contracts within the BU in order to deliver sustainable shareholder value consistent with the contracts tender, corporate objectives and agreed processes. As a senior manager the post holder will demonstrate Ringway's core values and will lead by example.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Liaise with the employer on commercial and contractual matters
* Assist delivery teams in effectively managing commercial risks
* Ensuring the timely application and payment for the works
* Work in partnership within the operational teams and Client to develop and implement the annual business and delivery plans
* Support the operational teams in developing their budgets, enabling accurate monthly reporting identifying any variances
* Ensure that all Commercial processes for each contract are fit for purpose and operate efficiently.
* Manage the performance and development of the commercial team and be responsible for all commercial functions and to actively inspire a positive staff morale.
* Ensure robust processes, tools and governance arrangements are in place to enable consistent and compliant commercial performance
* Ensure robust and manageable contracts are in place with supply chain partners
* Manage and lead the team in developing works estimates
* Ensure all sub-contractor instructions are clear and accurate
* Ensure that sub-contracts are in place for all supply chain partner whom are sub-contractors
What we are looking for:
* Previous experience of leading a commercial team
* Excellent knowledge of the NEC Suite of Contracts in particular the Term Services Contract.
* Degree or Post Graduate qualification in Quantity Surveying, or an associated construction related qualification.
* High level of proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Outlook and Word is required for this role.
* Excellent communication skills and deal with commercial matters in a pragmatic and effective manner
* A full UK driving license is essential as a level of travel will be required
