Many of our senior colleagues, including managers and directors, started exactly where you are now. Taking on this role gave them the confidence and experience to grow their careers, and it could do the same for you. What does the role involve? You ll be part of the daily life in a home supporting six adults (men and women, aged 4065) to live as independently as possible. That might mean supporting someone to get involved in a local activity, helping with daily routines, or simply being present and responsive to their needs. You ll support their choices, promote independence, and be mindful of any changes in their health and wellbeing. We re looking for someone who s proactive and ready to bring positive energy to the team whether that s through a love of cooking, a passion for gardening, or just a willingness to get involved and make things happen. You ll also take on some leadership responsibilities, including: Helping to organise rotas Supervising and supporting your team Getting involved in recruitment and induction Stepping in for the frontline manager when needed You ll work closely with your team, offering guidance and encouragement both formally and day-to-day to help them do their best for the people we support. Some of the people we support may need help with personal care or medication, and some may show behaviours that can be challenging. You ll be given full, specialist training and ongoing support from your manager and other senior staff to help you feel confident in your role. Working hours This is a shift-based role, with early and late shifts, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins. Example shifts include: Early: 07:30 15:00 Late: 14:30 22:00 We aim to plan rotas in a way that supports a healthy work-life balance. IND1 About you You will need some experience working with vulnerable people, ideally those with learning disabilities. Perhaps you have been a support worker or care worker and are now looking to step up to a more senior role with more responsibilities and greater challenges. You will need to be flexible and organised, with a positive approach. You must also be a driver with a UK manual or automatic licence, as you will be driving service vehicles, as well as possibly commuting places, using your own transport.
