ROLE OF THE JOB
The Sports Development Team is hosting the Northumberland Active Through Football Programme, aimed at encouraging physical activity in the communities of Ashington, Newbiggin, and Berwick through various sporting and physical activity sessions for those over 16 and adults.
The successful candidate will be skilled in engaging with communities, identifying barriers to participation, and devising realistic solutions for sustainable activity. Key duties include budget control, reporting to funders, staff management, ensuring session safety, workforce development, and community engagement, making this a diverse and rewarding role.
The team has established partnerships within the target communities, and the candidate will integrate into these networks to sustain existing sessions and develop new ones.
REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
* Strong communication skills, both in person and electronically.
* Highly self-motivated, organized, and passionate about working with hard-to-reach groups and communities.
* Ability to inspire and motivate others to support activity and participation, either as participants or leaders.
* Operational skills including conducting risk assessments, managing staff and budgets, monitoring KPIs, planning and hosting meetings, producing marketing materials, and supporting funding bids.
* Ability to travel between communities; access to a car is required.
* Desirable but not essential: ability to deliver sporting sessions.
