We are recruiting for a Deputy Principal Accountant on behalf of the Northern Ireland Civil Service for the Department for Communities. Your new role includes:
1. Ensuring delivery of high-quality regulatory engagement and finance assessments, focusing on compliance.
2. Applying consistent quality assurance and control measures.
3. Prioritising workload under the guidance of the Head of Regulation and Inspection.
4. Acting as an operational interface between the Department for Communities and RHAs to resolve regulatory and inspection issues.
5. Supporting the management of complex regulatory cases and developing appropriate responses.
6. Ensuring RHAs meet the Regulatory Framework requirements and developing legislative responses to underperformance.
7. Maintaining collaborative relationships with RHAs and stakeholders in the social housing sector.
8. Responding to Ministerial Briefings, FOI requests, Assembly and Oral Questions.
9. Coordinating operational contributions to thematic reviews and policy work.
10. Participating in high-level team decisions and shaping regulatory responses.
11. Performing line management duties and other responsibilities as appropriate.
Requirements:
Active, paid member of an accredited accountancy body (ACA/ACCA/CIMA etc.) or equivalent qualification.
