Job responsibilities We are looking for GP receptionists/administrators to join our team to assist in the smooth running of the practice in a friendly, caring and efficient manner. The job role will include welcoming patients, receiving telephone calls, maintaining and updating confidential records via computerised systems and general administrative work that is associated with the day to day running of the practice. Candidates should have experience working with the public and NHS experience would be an advantage, but is not essential. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, be approachable and able to work as part of a team. They should be proactive and able to use their initiative. Candidates should be computer literate and be willing to undertake relevant training in order to improve their skills as required. Working hours 20 hours per week. Duties and responsibilities of the role include: To act as the central point of contact for patients To answer the telephone and book appointments on the EMIS clinical system Utilise appropriate care navigation skills to signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional or service Deal with all general enquiries received by the practice, messages from patients, clinicians and external bodies and taking appropriate action General administration tasks to support the GP's and the smooth running of the practice Register new patients in a timely manner Process electronic and online prescription requests Open incoming mail and ensure that all correspondence is scanned and attached to patients computer records as per practice policies To have a thorough knowledge of all practice policies and procedures and work in accordance of these To assist with providing cover for other Reception team members if required for sickness and annual leave Ensuring the building/premises are secure at the end of the day and ensure, internal lights off and alarm activated To maintain patient confidentiality at all times To assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safety and security as defined in the practice Health & Safety Policy, the Staff Handbook and the Practice Infection Control Policy To participate and engage in any training programme implemented by the practice as part of this employment including annual performance review and ongoing professional development Applications via NHS jobs or via Covering Letter and CV sent to cwicb.practicemanagerwoodendnhs.net Closing date 26th April 2024.
