Are you a skilled Music Technician with a passion for education, technology, and performance support? A thriving secondary school in the heart of Tameside is seeking a proactive and technically confident individual to join its Performing Arts faculty this September.

The School:
This is a large, culturally rich school that prioritises the arts and offers a broad extracurricular programme. The music department has modern facilities, including a recording studio, Mac suite with DAWs, rehearsal rooms, and a large performance space used for concerts, drama productions, and community events.

The Role:
As Music Technician, you will be responsible for providing essential technical support to ensure the smooth running of lessons, rehearsals, and performances. This includes managing instruments, software, and audio equipment while also offering technical advice and assistance to students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting up and maintaining a range of audio and visual equipment including microphones, amplifiers, digital mixing desks, MIDI controllers, and stage lighting

Supporting lessons by managing backing tracks, sound files, and software platforms such as Logic Pro X and Sibelius

Recording student compositions and performances and ensuring safe storage and editing of files

Supporting school productions and concerts with live sound operation and lighting rigs

Ensuring instruments and electrical equipment are repaired, tuned, PAT tested, and properly stored

Assisting with inventories, budgets, and resource ordering for the department

Requirements:

Experience with music technology, live sound, or studio engineering

Familiarity with music production software ( Logic Pro, GarageBand, Ableton, etc.)

Excellent time management and attention to detail

Ability to work with young people and staff in a professional and supportive manner

Enthusiasm for the arts and a flexible approach to school life ( some out- of- hours work required during performance season)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
