Metallurgy Postgraduate Lab Technician

Salary: up to £13.50 - £15/hr (DOE)
Flexible hours (9am – 3pm) or full-time available | Monday – Friday
We are seeking a highly motivated Metallurgy postgraduate to join a growing laboratory team in Worcester. This role offers the opportunity to apply advanced academic knowledge in a practical setting, with a strong focus on materials hardness testing and analysis.
What you’ll be doing:
Performing hardness testing on a range of metallic materials using recognised techniques and equipment
Preparing and analysing metallurgical samples, recording accurate data, and maintaining detailed laboratory records
Supporting wider metallurgical testing and analysis projects as required
Reporting results clearly and contributing to problem-solving and continuous improvement
Adhering to strict health, safety, and quality standards at all times
What we’re looking for:
Postgraduate qualification (MSc / PhD) in Metallurgy or Materials Science (essential)
Previous laboratory experience (academic or industrial)
High attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
