About The Role
We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Nursing Associate to join our ward team at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Shepton Mallet. It is a full‑time position of 37.5 hours a week, with a combination of shifts:
* Monday to Sunday – Long Days: 07:00–19:30
* Monday to Sunday – Night shifts: 19:00–07:30
* Weekdays, weekends and bank holidays
What youll be doing
* Delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients pre‑ and post‑operatively and throughout their recovery.
* Supporting safe and effective patient admissions, care planning and discharge processes.
* Acting as a patient advocate, ensuring care is delivered with dignity, respect and compassion.
* Maintaining accurate, timely clinical documentation and patient records.
* Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and optimal bed utilisation.
* Supporting junior staff and contributing to a positive, collaborative team environment.
* Participating in clinical audit, governance and continuous improvement activities.
* Educating patients and families to support recovery and promote health and wellbeing.
What well look for in you
* Qualified Nursing Associate (NMC registered) with relevant ward experience.
* Experience working in a ward, day care or short‑stay clinical environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient‑centred approach.
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
* A proactive, flexible and positive attitude to work.
* Commitment to maintaining high standards of care and ongoing professional development.
