Job Summary
Applications are invited for a full-time permanent post for a Senior Biomedical Scientist. The successful candidate will work in a busy department at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, which provides a full range of diagnostic pathology services to NHS Tayside.
Roles and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in a busy diagnostic department, undertaking an annual workload of approximately 50,000 surgical pathology specimens on which we carry out 180,000 procedures.
Qualifications
* HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
* IBMS accredited MSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent (or currently pursuing an MSc, to be completed within an agreed timeframe).
* Evidence of continuing professional development, flexibility in approach and high motivation.
Training and Assessment
The successful candidate will also be expected to undertake extensive training and completion of competence based assessments.
The Department is approved by the Institute of Biomedical Science as a training laboratory for pre and post registration.
The Department is a UKAS accredited medical laboratory No. 8682.
