Overview
A vacancy for a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist in the Andrology laboratory within the Haematology department at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Perform a range of analyses in the NNUH Andrology Laboratory, including semen preparation and analysis.
* Input, report and amend patient data and results, ensuring accuracy and managing other colleagues’ work.
* Communicate results to patients, clinicians and other healthcare colleagues, providing clear explanations and reassurance when results are inconsistent with clinical presentation.
* Support education and training of medical staff, clinical scientists, other biomedical scientists, trainees, MLA’s and visiting students within the specialised area.
* Attend courses, lectures, mandatory CPD and other training activities to maintain competence.
* Maintain and troubleshoot complex specialist analytical equipment, including assessing fitness for clinical use and reporting results.
* Manage own workload to meet turnaround time targets in line with Trust policies.
Qualifications
* HCPC registration and a completed IBMS accredited biomedical sciences degree.
* Experience or training in andrology or related laboratory disciplines is desirable.
* Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and personal information with professionalism.
