Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at Heathrow IRC, a Immigration Removal Centre located in West Drayton. Heathrow IRC combines Colnbrook and Harmondsworth removal centres under one management structure, making it the largest immigration removal centre in Europe, with a capacity of 965 residents.

Salary:
The salary ranges between £46,478 - £55,086 per annum, depending on experience.

Candidate requirements: Legal right to work in the UK; offers subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties
- Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of patients' mental health needs.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic healthcare plan.
- Contribute to nursing strategy and vision to provide outstanding evidence‑based care to patients, seeking out and acting on their feedback to personalise care.
- Deliver non‑judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
- Play an active part in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients’ care following policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.
Qualifications
- NMC Registered – Mental Health.
- Understanding of supporting people with neurodiverse conditions including autism and ADHD, and complex communication challenges faced in secure environments.
Experience
- Experience of working collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders in a multi‑disciplinary environment.
- Desirable: Experience in hospital, community or prison environment.
