Working within a speciality team at Furness General Hospital, the Manager of the Patient Pathway is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the patient journey, ensuring compliance with NHS national performance targets and timely appointment scheduling.
Responsibilities
* Track and pursue all performance results, ensuring appropriate management.
* Ensure all patients receive appointments promptly and oversee all patient pathway elements.
* Supervise secretaries and clerical officers within specialty admin teams, escalating concerns to the Administration Manager.
* Exercise initiative, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to SOPs in work allocation.
* Supervise and monitor new staff, providing training and mentoring.
* Provide an administrative service for specialty consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
* Deal with enquiries and problems from patients and others with independent judgement.
* Arrange meetings, type agendas, and take accurate minutes.
* Attend relevant multidisciplinary team meetings.
* Liaise with all staff concerned with patient services (e.g., medical, nursing, records, X‑ray, patient contact centre, management).
* Participate in drafting or reviewing departmental policies and procedures.
* Support the introduction of new technology and working methods.
* Continuously develop skills, keeping up-to-date best practices.
* Work as a team member and a leader when required, meeting strict deadlines.
* Assist investigations and compile responses to complaints within optimal deadlines.
* Complete all mandatory training required by the Trust.
