As aSenior Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing theNovanta globalnetworks, includingWAN, Cloud interconnects, and branch office networks.You’llcollaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring thatnetworkservices arebuilt usingrobust, secure, and scalablebest practices.
Business Overview
Novanta’s Corporate and Shared Services teams play an important role in executing the company’s strategic mission and operations. Included in Corporate and Shared Services are the business functions including Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Development and Corporate Marketing. The Corporate and Shared Services teams work closely with all Novanta business units to support operating initiatives contributing to the organization’s financial success.
Primary Responsibilities:
Design and Deployment:
1. Plan, analyze, and design enterprise-scalenetwork solutions.
2. Deploy and configurevariousenterprisegrade hardware firewalls.
3. Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards.
4. Proficient with networkfirewalland Network Segmentation frameworks.
5. Experience designing and deploying NAC solutions.
NetworkManagement:
6. Maintain and optimize existingBranch and Cloudnetwork Infrastructure.
7. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure efficient resourceutilization.
8. Experience with designing,buildingand managing Cloud Interconnects and VPN solutions for Hybrid cloud workloads.
9. Experience managing ISP vendors in support of global backbone.
Operations:
10. HighlyProficient withlayer 3 routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
11. In-Depth understanding of TCP/IP, and layer 4-7 protocols.
12. In-Depth understanding of DDI (DNS, DHCP, IP management).
13. Monitor network performance, metrics, and KPI’s.
14. Act asescalationpoint for teams within IT and Operations.
15. Work with 3rdparties to design and implement business initiatives.
16. Knowledge and experience with Atlassian JIRA for agile deploymentmethodologies.
17. JIRA for ticketing & change management
18. Strong troubleshooting ability and comfortable working independently whenrequired.
Certifications:
19. Professional Certifications such as CCNP or CCNA.
Documentation and Collaboration:
20. Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
21. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and network engineers.
22. Familiar with JIRA and Confluence for planning and implementation
Qualifications:
23. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
