Product Marketing Lead – IDT + Pagero, Europe
Thomson Reuters' Marketing Team is dedicated to developing and implementing innovative and effective integrated marketing campaigns across a range of industry-leading products, focused on delivering value for our tax and accounting professionals. This role is a product marketing leadership position responsible for setting the strategic approach, planning and prioritization for Thomson Reuters' Transactional Compliance solutions in Europe, specifically our Indirect Tax and e-invoicing platforms, delivering on unique customer needs to ultimately drive sales, revenue, and growth across the European market.
This high‑impact product marketing leadership role reports to the Director of Product Marketing and requires a strategic builder and entrepreneurial self‑starter who can drive European product marketing execution and go‑to‑market programs. The role encompasses developing compelling positioning and messaging, enabling sales, and driving product adoption. Full operational responsibility for product marketing in Europe is required, alongside support for cross‑functional demand generation, events, campaigns, and integrated marketing initiatives. The role works collaboratively across Sales, Product, Finance, Communications, Customer Success, and global teams, requiring strong product marketing fundamentals, analytical rigor, financial acumen, exceptional project management skills, and a grit‑driven mindset that thrives in ambiguity.
Responsibilities
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3‑5 product marketers, providing strategic direction, coaching, and career development while building team capabilities across product marketing, sales enablement, competitive intelligence, and customer insight.
* Own product marketing strategy and execution for Indirect Tax and e‑invoicing solutions across Europe, developing differentiated positioning, compelling messaging, and go‑to‑market strategies that drive customer acquisition and platform expansion in under‑penetrated markets.
* Build business cases and ROI models that quantify customer value and support sales conversations with finance and executive buyers.
* Lead end‑to‑end product launch planning and execution, coordinating cross‑functional teams to ensure successful product introductions, feature releases, and market expansion initiatives.
* Establish and monitor KPIs for product launches and marketing initiatives, creating dashboards and reporting mechanisms to track post‑launch performance, customer adoption metrics, and campaign effectiveness, using insights to continuously improve go‑to‑market execution.
* Develop and execute comprehensive market adoption strategies to significantly increase solution penetration across European markets, identifying white‑space opportunities, untapped segments, and growth levers to accelerate market share gains.
* Create and deliver core product marketing assets including positioning documents, messaging frameworks, competitive battle cards, sales presentations, customer case studies, and ROI tools tailored for European markets.
* Enable sales teams across Europe with product training, competitive positioning, talk tracks, objection handling, and customer conversation frameworks that drive effective selling and pipeline conversion.
* Develop executive‑level presentations, business cases, and strategic recommendations that resonate with C‑suite and senior stakeholders, articulating complex value propositions with clarity and impact.
* Partner with Product Management to influence development priorities based on European market needs, regulatory requirements, and competitive dynamics, ensuring solutions meet regional buyer expectations.
* Serve as the voice of the European customer, conducting customer interviews, competitive analysis, and market research to inform product strategy, roadmap priorities, and marketing approaches.
* Develop and maintain strong product knowledge on Indirect Tax and e‑invoicing capabilities, translating complex technical and compliance features into customer‑facing value propositions and competitive differentiators.
* Support demand generation initiatives by providing product‑led content and campaign messaging that drives awareness, consideration, and conversion across the funnel.
* Build strategic messaging around European regulatory transformations (e‑invoicing mandates, VAT compliance requirements), positioning Thomson Reuters as the market leader in compliance automation, and develop customer segmentation frameworks specific to European markets.
* Collaborate on European events and field marketing programs, delivering product demonstrations, customer presentations, and thought leadership that showcases solution capabilities.
Qualifications
* 7+ years of experience in product marketing with demonstrated success in B2B software or SaaS marketing, preferably in European markets.
* Proven people‑management experience leading and developing a team of 3‑5 direct reports, with a track record of coaching, mentoring, and creating development plans that drive professional growth.
* Strong analytical and financial acumen with ability to build business cases, analyze ROI, interpret performance metrics, and synthesize market insights, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback into actionable strategies.
* Demonstrated grit and entrepreneurial mindset; thrives in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments, comfortable challenging the status quo, and proven ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and driving results.
* Exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills with ability to translate complex technical and regulatory topics into compelling value propositions, sales narratives, and presentations that resonate with C‑suite stakeholders.
* Strong project management capabilities with proven ability to lead end‑to‑end product launches, coordinate cross‑functional teams, and establish KPIs to track performance and drive optimization.
* Proven product marketing foundation with ability to develop positioning, messaging, competitive strategies, sales enablement materials, go‑to‑market plans, and conduct customer research and competitive analysis.
* Familiarity with or willingness to quickly learn European VAT compliance, e‑invoicing mandates, or tax technology landscapes; experience marketing to tax, finance, or compliance audiences is a plus. Prior industry experience is valuable but not essential; strong marketing fundamentals and ability to master new domains quickly are prioritized. Cultural awareness of European market nuances and fluency in English are required; additional European languages are a strong plus.
* BA/BS required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
