Lead Technology Development Engineer
Location: Warton/Samlesbury – hybrid and flexible arrangements available (please speak with recruiter).
Salary: £56,766+ depending on skills and experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Engage with internal and external customers and technologists to lead and drive the support technology strategy.
* Capture requirements and use cases that will drive innovation and technology exploitation for business benefit.
* Identify funding opportunities across the business for research and develop exciting proposals for technology development programmes.
* Create collaborative programmes and identify funding opportunities with key external partners, suppliers, SMEs.
* Act as interface between BAE Systems and external research organisations on support technology research.
Essential Skills and Experiences
* Knowledge and experience of digital technology development and approaches, including utilisation of cloud infrastructure.
* Experience of technology capability insertion from concept through to deployment.
* Highly collaborative, with willingness to embrace innovative approaches and constructively challenge the status‑quo.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
* Programming experience (e.g. Python).
* Awareness of civil aircraft operations.
* Experience with DevSecOps development framework.
* Awareness of AI approaches and techniques.
