Job Overview
This position reports to the Site Material Planning Manager. At TE Connectivity, the Materials Planning Team is responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of materials through the production cycle. The team determines quantities and order dates for materials to meet production or engineering schedules, initiates purchase or production requisitions in compliance with supply agreements, and develops schedules for use in the production facility based on forecasts and historical analysis. The Planner will be responsible for creating manufacturing and material supply plans that achieve customer satisfaction and cost objectives. They will be fully responsible for the delivery performance of their products and the control of related inventory. Working closely with other Planning team members and departments such as Manufacturing, Logistics, and Procurement, this role supports Sales and Operations Planning processes.
Job Responsibilities:
* Make commitments to customer orders based on robust material supply and capacity plans.
* Ensure on-time delivery performance towards customers.
* Establish lead times for each operation to meet shipping dates based on sales forecasts or customer orders.
* Expedite operations that delay schedules and adjust schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
* Manage execution of plans.
* Raise Manufacturing Orders.
* Raise Purchase Requisitions.
* Conduct Capacity Planning.
* Manage Inventory.
* Provide Planning support for new projects in the factory.
* Support and promote continuous improvement methodologies across the organization.
* Be proactive and responsive to customer (internal and external) requirements.
Candidate Background:
* Minimum 1 year of planning experience required; production planning in a dynamic manufacturing environment is preferred but not mandatory.
* 5 GCSE’s grades A-C (or equivalent).
* Proficient in ERP and Microsoft Office software.
* SAP knowledge is preferred.
