Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Derby
Salary: GBP20.86 per hour on mornings, GBP23.02 per hour on afternoons
Overtime: 1.5x
Hours: Double Days Shift (Monday : Friday)

Contract: Temporary to Permanent (3 months to perm)
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Derby on a temporary:to:permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long:term, stable role with an international industry leader.
About the Role:
Working as part of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of critical plant machinery and equipment. The role demands a proactive approach to Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and a rapid, skilled response to reactive breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled maintenance activities to maximise operational uptime.

Conduct reactive maintenance and complex fault:finding across all plant machinery.
*
Utilise strong mechanical engineering experience on equipment, including replacement of bearings, rollers, and general mechanical fitting.

Carry out welding and fabrication tasks as required for repairs and modifications.
*
Maintain and troubleshoot complex automated and industrial systems, including:
*
Robotics and automated manufacturing equipment.
*
Conveyor systems (belt, roller, and chain).
*
Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
*
Overhead Cranes (routine inspections and minor repairs).
Skills and Experience Required:
*
Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer/Technician within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
*
Competency in mechanical fault finding and repair is essential.
*
Proficiency in welding (ideally coded or equivalent experience).
*
Familiarity with maintaining automated equipment, including robotics and conveyors.
*
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
*
