As Senior Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be a key player in keeping production running smoothly while helping to develop the systems, standards, and culture of a modern maintenance function from the ground up. An SAS standard engineer who has a full toolbox of tricks. Able to diagnose and fault find on the fly while communicating with ops, other engineers and management to provide confidence that all is in hand and the job is in good hands. To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials: Proven experience in a senior or lead maintenance role, in food/FMCG manufacturing and familiar with weighing and depositing machinery. Confident with both mechanical and electrical systems (roughly a 60/40 split) Experience working on 3-phase systems, PLC-controlled equipment, VFDs, motors, and sensors Hands-on fabrication skills — welding, repairs, and small-scale builds High standards of safety and a proactive mindset toward improvement Calm under pressure, collaborative, and a natural coach to others Clear communicator with a strong sense of ownership Within this position, you’ll also be: Taking ownership of both reactive and planned maintenance activities Developing and optimising the PPM system Diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical and electrical issues across machinery Mentoring junior engineers and setting standards across the team Working across conveyors, chillers, sealers, mixers, weighers, and packaging lines Supporting upgrades, modifications, and automation initiatives Ensuring safety and compliance across all engineering activity Recording maintenance data, downtime trends, and root cause investigations Collaborating closely with production and engineering teams on performance and improvements Hours and salary Monday to Friday 6am – 3pm Upto £60,000 DOE Private Medical 28 days holiday Birthday off Volunteer day Talk Staff Recruitment is an established division of Talk Staff Group and works with companies throughout the East Midlands and UK with roles including many areas such as: Accountancy & Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Contact Centre and Office Support.
