Overview
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council has opportunities for qualified Social Workers to join our specialist adolescent team in Stockton. We aim to positively shape and develop the lives of children and their families, in a social work environment that is friendly, supportive, and focused on innovation and learning. Our management team is permanent and aspirational for the service, providing consistent leadership and clear direction.
You will work from our new state-of-the-art council office on the riverside in Stockton, with free parking, a riverside café, and modern office spaces.
Responsibilities
* Work with young people and their families to reduce Harm Outside of the Home (HOTH), Child Criminal Exploitation, Child Sexual Exploitation, and County Lines.
* Collaborate in a creative, multi-agency approach to address contextual safeguarding concerns.
* Operate in a setting with a reduced caseload to prioritise relationship building, disruption, and creating safe spaces for young people to develop and thrive.
* Contribute to positive outcomes for children, young people and families within small, friendly teams with strong learning resources, supervision, and opportunities for career progression.
Qualifications
* Have a relevant social work qualification
* Be registered with Social Work England
* Have compassion and an understanding of the needs of children and families
* Have knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and practices around Harm Outside of the Home (HoTH) and contextual safeguarding
* Be an excellent communicator
