An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and innovative individual to work as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) within Gastroenterology. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse who will embrace the challenge of this exciting and rewarding role. Applicants should be a registered nurse, who, acting within their professional boundaries will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care. The successful applicant will demonstrate safe clinical decision making and expert care for patients. The ANP will have a responsibility to teach, supervise, assess and mentor, and to plan, prioritise and delegate work to other staff members. The ANP will work across all four Pillars of Practice, developing and maintaining professional and organisational relationships with the multidisciplinary team. ANPs must possess a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Practice and have demonstrable evidence of clinical competence. Applications are also welcomed from candidates who have not yet completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Practice or attained clinical competence, on a trainee basis. On successful completion of the above, candidates will transition to a fully qualified ANP role. Individuals who meet the full requirements for the role of ANP will commence on Band 7. Those applicants who are interested in developing into the role following the successful completion of academic qualifications will be renumerated on line with Agenda for Change Annex 21*, based on current roles and experience. * Annex 21 Trainees are paid a percentage of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate which is dependent on the duration of the training period (see Terms and Conditions).
