Are you an experienced and organised Business Support or Administration professional with a keen eye for detail?

The Business Support service's vision is to implement a robust, flexible, and resilient business support service across Children's Services. In this key post within Wandsworth Children's Services, you will be responsible for providing efficient and effective business support to the Safeguarding Standards Service, working with families in acute crisis, where emotions often run high.

About the role

Reporting to the Business Support Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality service by promoting a good working environment and assisting with emergency situations when required. Your responsibilities include answering calls, dealing sensitively and helpfully with callers, maintaining filing systems, and setting up new starters on systems.

You will need to confidently use IT systems and programs, accurately input data, and prepare correspondence in line with Council standards. Your manager will support your training and development to help you succeed in your role.

While primarily supporting a specific service, you will also be a team player within the wider team, supporting other areas as needed, and may be required to work across different parts of the directorate.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

* Proficiency in IT systems and programs
* Excellent minute-taking skills
* Strong communication and organisational skills with attention to detail
* Ability to deal sensitively, calmly, and effectively with enquiries from staff, partners, and callers
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good numeracy and literacy skills
* Commitment to professional development and mandatory training
