Responsibilities
* Work alongside the existing Lead Therapist in managing Dietetic, Speech and Language, and First Response Teams within the Aintree Inpatient Therapy Service.
* Provide operational management across a 7‑day care model, covering Monday and Tuesday shifts and offering cover as needed.
* Collaborate with Therapies Leads, Professional Leads and Team Leaders to drive quality improvement, ensuring adherence to Trust objectives, targets, quality standards and resource constraints.
* Lead staff engagement and empowerment through a coaching approach, fostering a supportive and open culture.
* Implement operational strategy, plans and policies, ensuring compliance with legislation and governance, and coordinate with external bodies such as commissioners.
* Maintain line management responsibility for Band 7 Clinical AHPs.
* Coordinate day‑to‑day clinical operational activity to meet performance targets within tight financial controls.
* Use data, audit and research to influence practice and develop business cases and project plans supporting the Clinical Service Strategy.
* Address complaints, concerns and learning opportunities to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
* Support delivery of evidence‑based care and service improvement initiatives across professions and integrated pathways.
Qualifications and Experience
* First‑level professional registration (NMC or HCPC).
* Clinical professional qualification at degree level or equivalent.
* Demonstrated post‑registration CPD, working towards a master’s or similar advanced study.
* Post‑graduate or registration management/training qualification or equivalent.
* Evidence of leadership development and extensive experience as a clinical manager, including responsibility for clinical quality, people management, budget control and successful delivery of performance targets and quality standards.
* Strong communication skills: mediation, negotiation, consultation, facilitation, presentation, training and coaching.
* Experience in leading teams, managing difficult issues, implementing policy and driving continuous improvement.
* IT literacy and ability to use standard office and bespoke systems.
* High engagement with diversity, NHS policy and regulatory frameworks.
Desirable Criteria
* Project management experience.
* UK professional registration.
