The job itself
Hours of work: 4 hrs per week term time, 6 hours per week in the school holidays.
Days/Times: flexible - to be arranged with family.

What do people like about me? What amazing things can I do?
I am a fantastic 7-year-old little boy with lots of energy and people who know me love my infectious smile. I will always show my true feelings, and I have a great memory for detail. I enjoy problem solving and can show impressive levels of perseverance when motivated.
What do I like?
I love to build my 'Numberblocks' and organise my collections of books. Swimming is my favourite activity, and I also enjoy trampolining and soft play when the environment is not too busy. There are several cartoons I enjoy watching too.
What do I dislike?
I really dislike environments that feel loud, busy and out of my control as I have complex sensory processing difficulties. You will know it is too much for me because I will cover my ears and communicate that I want to go. I don't enjoy it very much when other children disrupt my play, so I need support with taking turns using a first and then routine. I don't especially enjoy activities that are messy, but I do like to join in with some baking at times (often by eating the ingredients, pouring flour or cracking eggs).
What do I enjoy doing?
I love to swim and would love more regular opportunities to be in the pool and learn. I enjoy journeys in the car and bus and train rides, particularly were choosing a biscuit or visiting a book shop is involved! I can follow a visual schedule at photograph level and this reduces my anxiety. I am starting to explore my scooter and would enjoy opportunities to ride it to nearby parks. I love to be outdoors with physical activities such as running and climbing available. My ADHD behaviours mean I need to be busy. After I have been outside, I enjoy regulating indoors by organising my books and toys.
What do I need help with?
I am Autistic and need lots of help with my communication. I use a mixture of visuals, speech and simple signs to show you what I want or need. Recently, I have got a new AAC (electronic talker) to support my vocabulary and understanding. It can take me a bit longer to process what you have said or asked me to do. I need people to be patient with me whilst I navigate certain environments and use my visual schedule to communicate what you expect of me. I need to know you are there with me for my safety and I will need you to support me with my personal care.

11. Be flexible to meet the needs of the family.
12. Have knowledge of working with or supporting a child with special needs.
13. Have a driving licence.
