Job Title: Production Operative – Day Shift Location: Manchester, Trafford Park Reports to: Production & Compliance Manager Employment type: Permanent Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7:30am – 4pm and Friday 7:30am – 3pm with 30 minutes for lunch We’re looking for a reliable and hands-on individual to join our team as a Production Operative. This is a varied role that combines operating sheet metal machinery with supporting general warehouse duties. Ideal for someone who is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and keen to develop their skills in a manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities: Operate and Maintain Sheet Metal Machinery: Set up, monitor, and maintain sheet metal equipment to ensure safe, efficient production of high-quality duct fittings. Ensure Product Quality: Inspect products for defects and report any quality issues promptly to the team leader. Support Warehouse Operations: Assist with picking, packing, and loading of goods to support production and dispatch activities when required. Maintain Clean and Safe Work Environment: Keep machinery and surrounding areas clean while complying with all health and safety regulations and protocols. Requirements: Sheet Metal and Production Experience: Proven background working in a sheet metal or manufacturing environment. Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence: Valid FLT licence (or willingness to obtain one) to operate material handling equipment safely. Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy when working with machinery and during quality checks. Basic Record-Keeping Skills: Ability to maintain clear and accurate production and material records. Ideal Candidate: Safety-Conscious: Always adheres to health and safety protocols, including the use of machine guards and PPE. Reliable and Flexible: Willing to take on various tasks and support the team to ensure smooth factory operations. Technically Capable: Confident in operating and controlling sheet metal machinery and equipment. Eager to Learn: Open to training and developing new skills to grow within the role.
