A growing organisation in the surfacing and infrastructure sector is looking to recruit a Transport Supervisor, reporting directly to the Transport Manager.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will work at a supervisory level, deputising for the Transport Manager at the main depot in Redditch, while also remotely supporting transport operations across three additional sites. The role is full-time and offers a pathway to a future Transport Manager position.
Key Responsibilities
* Support day‑to‑day transport operations and planning
* Coordinate drivers and respond to live operational issues
* Assist with vehicle maintenance scheduling and supplier liaison
* Monitor costs and support efficiency improvements
* Ensure compliance with transport legislation and safety standards
* Maintain vehicle maintenance and control across all sites
* Invoice checking, authorisations and reconciliation within agreed limits
* Manage KPI for maintenance spend, driver behaviours, wasted fuel, infringements, and WTD KPI
* Driver audit management and new/agency driver induction
* Fuel and AdBlue management
* Support operations as required, including weekend and out‑of‑hours emergency support
* General assistance to the Head of Fleet Maintenance and compliance
Requirements
* Minimum 4 years’ experience in a transport or logistics supervisory/coordination role
* Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
* Confident using transport systems and IT
* Clear communicator, able to work effectively under pressure
* Proficiency in MS Office, spreadsheets and transport databases
* Self‑managing with good attention to detail, methodical and thorough approach
* Highly organised, able to remain focused under pressure and multi‑task to meet priorities
* Holder of a valid CPC licence
* Good level of English and Maths
Hours
Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 16:00 (40 hrs per week). Weekends may be required at times along with reasonable overtime.
Salary
£33,000 – £35,000 per annum.
Location
Bromsgrove & Redditch based (fully on‑site role). Applicants must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate prior to starting.
