Are you an experienced Early Years Support Worker looking to make a meaningful impact in the world of Special Educational Needs? GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant in Ashford who brings hands-on experience in early childhood settings to support children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 or small group support to children with SEN, particularly those in early years or with early developmental needs.
Use your knowledge of early childhood development to support speech, motor, and emotional growth.
Foster a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment tailored to individual learning styles.
Assist the class teacher and SENCO in delivering personalised learning plans (EHCPs and IEPs).
Encourage communication, play-based learning, and emotional regulation strategies.
Support personal care and daily routines, ensuring comfort and dignity for all students.
Requirements:
Previous experience as an Early Years Support Worker or in a nursery/early childhood setting.
Understanding of child development, early intervention, and SEN strategies.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE, Level 2/3 in Childcare or Supporting Teaching & Learning) are desirable.
Team player with strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
