This is a 6-month role ending in March, with a retention payment equivalent to one month’s salary upon successful completion of the contract. This payment is contingent on the individual’s commitment to remain in post until the end of the contract term.
The role involves providing 1-1 support for NEET (Not In Education, Employment or Training) young people aged 16-24, where mental health barriers hinder their progress towards work, employment, or training. NEET engagement workers will deliver tailored interventions focused on supporting mental health and helping young people achieve their employment or training goals. Interventions will be delivered on an outreach basis within community settings or participants' homes, requiring travel across a geographical area of the city.
You will carry a caseload of approximately 20–25 participants for about 3-6 months each, engaging with them and providing tailored support to identify needs, manage mental wellbeing, and achieve employment/training objectives.
What we are looking for?
We seek someone capable of supporting young people accessing the Step Forward program to reduce barriers to education, training, or employment, such as issues related to housing, debt management, relationships, and emotional wellbeing.
This role also involves providing information, advice, and guidance on education, employment, or training, including support with job searching, CV and application writing, mock interviews, and work readiness.
