Mechanical Engineer
Location: Port Talbot
Salary: £48,000-£51,000 per year (inclusive of shift premium)

Rhino Recruitment is working with a leading manufacturing company in the Port Talbot area. We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer seeking long-term career progression and job stability within a well-established organisation.
Requirements Qualifications:
* Time-served mechanical apprenticeship (essential)
* HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (desirable)
* Counterbalance forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
Experience:
* Experience in an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment
* Previous experience in a BRC Certified workplace (desirable)
* Experience with machining and welding (desirable)
* Strong background in reactive and preventative maintenance
* Proven ability to diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with schedules
* Respond efficiently to mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime
* Diagnose and repair faults on production equipment and machinery
* Ensure all maintenance and repairs are documented accurately
* Work collaboratively with the engineering and production teams
* Follow all health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations
* Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency

* Hands-on approach with a strong technical background
* Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills
* Strong organisational and workload management abilities
* Good communication skills, with the ability to interact at all levels
* Attention to detail and ability to work methodically under pressure
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Computer literate with experience using maintenance management systems (desirable)
