We’re working with a specialist SEND school in Barnsley looking for a confident, compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs including autism, ADHD and social, emotional and mental health needs. What your day might look like: Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups Using visual timetables, sensory strategies and structured routines Helping children regulate emotions and re-engage with learning Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and therapists Celebrating the small wins, because they matter You’ll be part of a team that understands behaviour is communication and believes relationships come first. We’re looking for someone who: Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND Stays calm, even when the classroom feels anything but Understands de-escalation and trauma-informed approaches Builds trust through consistency and kindness Wants a role where their work genuinely changes a child’s day If you’ve worked in a SEND school, PRU, alternative provision or care setting, we’d love to hear from you.
