Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Temp Chef to join our culinary team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will assist in food preparation and cooking, ensuring high standards of quality and safety are maintained. The Temp Chef will work closely with our kitchen staff to deliver delicious meals efficiently and consistently.
Duties
* Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to specified recipes and standards
* Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with food safety regulations
* Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner to meet service requirements
* Support the team during busy periods by assisting with meal assembly and plating
* Follow health and safety guidelines at all times, including proper handling of food and equipment
* Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation to minimise waste
* Contribute to creating a positive dining experience for guests through attentive service
Qualifications
* Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment
* Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
* Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques and culinary skills
* Previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen setting is desirable
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
* Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work hours as required
