Overview
Join to apply for the Senior Care Assistant role at HC-One. This is a full-time role working night shifts, 44 hours per week. Full flexibility is required.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. You will plan and implement care to give residents a real sense of security, dignity and independence, and develop truly personalised care plans by getting to know residents and their families.
You will lead a team of Care Assistants and be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care and influencing the rest of the team. You may help with activities such as showing someone how to use a walking frame, assisting with meals at the end of life, or talking with a resident’s family. You’ll also assist the Registered Nurse and Care Manager and participate in providing physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication.
Key responsibilities also include maintaining accurate records and building strong relationships with the team.
Essential skills include completing and maintaining appropriate records, effective time management, and communicating with residents and co-workers with kindness and consideration.
Qualifications
Ideally, you’ll have completed a Level 2 Diploma/SNVQ in Adult Care and be prepared to work towards Level 3 qualification in Adult Care or equivalent, with a background in person-centred care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia. What’s essential is positive energy and the ability to get along with people. You’ll know what good record keeping looks like and be able to manage your time effectively, and you’ll communicate with residents and colleagues with genuine kindness.
