Role Purpose:
Agricultural Liaison Officers (ALO) are essential in preparing and delivering construction works on major projects in rural environments. As intermediaries between landowners/tenants, contractors, and clients, ALOs ensure that works are conducted in compliance with legal agreements, consents, and approved construction methodologies to minimize disruption to agricultural operations. Ardent is expanding its team of ALOs to support clients on various innovative and exciting major infrastructure projects across the UK. The role includes opportunities for travel to meet affected parties and work with industry experts on infrastructure projects, including Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs) and Development Consent Orders (DCOs).
Key Responsibilities:
* Client and Landowner Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for landowners, occupiers, clients, and contractors on site. Exceed client expectations through effective communication and relationship management.
* Communication: Liaise with landowners, negotiate access, manage client interactions, and address enquiries. Strengthen stakeholder relationships and improve public trust, resulting in smoother project delivery and reduced conflicts or delays.
* Project Hygiene: Support the Project Account Manager with financial requirements, ensuring accurate and timely submission of timesheets and expenses. Help exceed forecasted commercial performance for the project and ensure the directorate and business meet their Work In Progress (WIP) and debtors Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
* Technical Knowledge: Provide guidance on land right processes and support pre-entry and post-completion surveys. Deliver instructions effectively and efficiently, building confidence with clients and stakeholders.
* Site Work and Visits: Manage onsite work, interact with landowners, and promptly address any issues. Ensure successful project outcomes through effective site management.
Skills & Experience:
* Effective Relationship Building: Enhance cross-functional teamwork and aligned decision-making, leading to increased project efficiency and improved client satisfaction.
* Effective Communication Skills: Ensure smooth project delivery through clear verbal and written communication with all stakeholders.
* Basic Farming Market Knowledge: Provide informed advice to clients, supporting their projects and improving client satisfaction and repeat business.
* Understanding of Land Access and Rights: Deliver solutions and efficiencies in line with or ahead of the program, exceeding client expectations. Support negotiations, develop and complete agreements, and evidence meaningful engagement.
* Interpersonal Skills: Communicate clearly and concisely with team members, clients, and project teams, ensuring successful project outcomes and reporting.
