As a Senior Support Worker, you will be a key member of the team, taking on additional responsibilities beyond those of a Support Worker. You will continue to provide person-centred support to the People We Support, helping them maintain and develop their skills and interests. You will also take on leadership tasks, providing guidance and support to the team, ensuring the smooth running of the service, and helping individuals lead independent lives. This role offers the opportunity to step up as a leader, assisting the Team Leader in managing the service and developing the team.

Day to day support responsibilities as per the Support Worker Job Description.
In addition, the Senior Support Worker will be responsible for the following:
* Lead and act as the first point of contact in the absence of the Team Leader.
* Assist the Team Leader with the day-to-day supervision of Support Workers and where required undertake the formal supervision of Support Workers.
* Compile team rotas and activity plans as required by the Team Leader.
* Maintain and check the accuracy of the financial records of the people we support.
* Be a positive role model for empathic Leadership; supporting the implementation of the One Fylde Operational Way.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested.
* Liaise with L&D and HR and advise of any moves and changes within the team on a weekly basis.
* Contribute to the induction, support and training of new starters in the charity.
* Being a strong advocate for focussing attention on the 8-key quality of life indicators.
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, family members and professionals, verbally and in writing.
* Raise any concerns about practice or the people we support in a timely manner.
* Develop a respectful relationship with the people we support to ensure a value-based, person led service is delivered, along with their families, friends and / or relevant agencies.
* Develop effective working relationships, whether working alone and/or in co-operation, with members of multi-discipline teams, colleagues and other providers to maximise opportunities for the person we support/s, to implement a high-quality service.
* All handovers are completed to the standards required to enable consistency in service.
