As a Catering Assistant at Dixons Cottingley Academy, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, nutritious meals to our staff and students. You will have the chance to work in a supportive environment alongside our Head Chef and kitchen team, who will provide support and guidance to ensure you develop professionally.
About this role:
Culinary Support
Assist the Chef Manager / Head Chef with the preparation of meals, drinks, and snacks.
Help maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
Wash up and clean kitchen equipment and tableware.
Ensure deliveries and stock are stored correctly and rotated as per HACCP guidelines, adhering to manual handling procedures at all times.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Support the recruitment and training of future kitchen staff as we grow over the next three years.
Set out and put away dining furniture.

Responsibilities:
Maintain high levels of cleanliness and food hygiene by cleaning the dining area and kitchen premises.
Clean outside the kitchen areas, including drains and dustbin areas.
Ensure good food hygiene practices: high standards of personal hygiene and kitchen hygiene in the preparation and service of food; maintenance of equipment and premises.
Serve food to staff and students and operate cashless tills to record purchases.
