Offer description

Supply Hive are working alongside a specialist post-16 provision who take a truly personalised approach to education, supporting young people with SEND and SEMH needs who aren’t yet ready for traditional classroom settings. Many of their learners face barriers such as anxiety, autism, or trauma, so their journey begins in a place they feel comfortable, often at home or within the community and progresses at a pace that suits them. They are looking for a compassionate and adaptable Transition Support Tutor to help build learners’ confidence, routines, and life skills, supporting them step by step as they move from 1:1 support into small group settings, centre-based learning, and eventually further education or employment. This position is centred around supporting young people aged 16–25 with SEND and SEMH needs who may have faced challenges in traditional education settings. You’ll play a key role in helping them rebuild confidence, develop routines, and re-engage with learning at a pace that works for them. A big part of the role starts outside of the classroom. You’ll initially be working 1:1 with learners in their homes or within the community, focusing on building trust and meaningful relationships. As their confidence grows, you’ll support them in transitioning into small group settings, centre-based learning, and eventually further education or employment pathways. You’ll deliver life skills sessions, support emotional wellbeing, and introduce Functional Skills in Maths and English when learners are ready. This is a role for someone who is patient, adaptable, and genuinely committed to helping young people move forward.
