We are seeking a professional, reliable, and customer‑focused Security Officer to join our established security team at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, the UK’s largest open‑air retail destination, welcoming more than 8 million visitors each year. This is a dynamic and people‑focused role, ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast‑paced environment and take pride in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and secure atmosphere.
You will act as a highly visible presence across the centre, supporting retailers, visitors, and stakeholders while upholding the highest standards of safety, security, and customer service.
Role Responsibilities
1. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for safeguarding people, property, and assets while delivering a professional and approachable service at all times. Duties include, but are not limited to:
2. Controlling access and egress points in line with site procedures
3. Maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment through regular patrols and checks
4. Delivering a consistently high level of customer service to visitors, tenants, and stakeholders
5. Responding effectively to incidents, including medical situations, theft, lost or vulnerable persons, and public safety concerns
6. Acting in accordance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols
7. Providing a visible security presence across the centre to deter crime and support smooth operations
8. Working collaboratively as part of a large on‑site security team to ensure effective communication and operational efficiency
Candidate Requirements
9. To be successful in this role, candidates must demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and a strong commitment to safety and service excellence. Essential requirements include:
10. A valid SIA Licence
11. A flexible and adaptable approach to working hours, including weekends and event days
12. A smart, professional appearance with a confident and approachable manner
13. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with the public, retailers, contractors, and colleagues
14. Confidence in managing incidents calmly and professionally
15. A strong team ethic, with the ability to work independently when required
16. Good physical fitness, as the role involves regular foot patrols and can be physically demanding
17. Willingness to undertake additional training, including First Aid and CCTV, if not already qualified
18. UK Driving License with access to your own vehicle
