Here’syour chance to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families! Join our Integrated Front Door (IFD) as an Information Officer, where you can develop skills and gain experience in a dynamic, multi-agency setting.
Our Integrated Front Door team is the main contact for calls and referrals to Children’s Social Care. In September 2023, we achieved an ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted, receiving positive inspection feedback. Weare responsible forcollecting crucial information to make informed decisions on further interventions for children and their families. We are a service offering a 24/7, 365-day single access point for all contacts and referrals aligning with statutory and local guidelines for child safety and wellbeing.
As an Information Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our services, supporting social work and agency teams by gathering, distributing, and preparing this information. You will receive calls and emails from parents, professionals and members of the public about child safeguarding concerns. You will be supported to give immediate advice, signpost to other services, gain more information and triage the concerns to determine what level of social care involvement the IFD will offer. You will also maintain and update our electronic records with accurate information about families and prepare pieces of work for Social Workers and other staff to complete.
This is a fast-paced role where you will encounter callers who may be feeling emotionally distressed/ in crisis. An ability to remain calm under pressure, whilst also being empathetic and professional, is essential. Candidates would also need to be personally resilient and able to demonstrate consistent enthusiasm and teamwork across a hybrid pattern of home- and office-working.
We are looking for a dedicated professional capable of problem solving, managing challenging demands and prioritisation of work effectively to exceed our customer needs. Applicants with a working knowledge of child safeguarding or early help support, or experience with partner agencies who work with children, will find opportunity to use any of this experience to great effect.
