A successful and growing manufacturing & retail business based in Scarborough is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis offering a competitive salary of up to £55,000, 33 days holiday, and hybrid working options. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting cashflow management in a fast-paced environment.
As a Financial Accountant, you will:
* Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in line with company policies and accounting standards
* Manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances promptly
* Take responsibility for cashflow reporting and forecasting to support business operations
* Oversee payroll reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines
* Lead and support the AP & AR teams to ensure efficient processing of invoices and payments
* Carry out daily cash postings, bank reconciliations, and ensure funds are allocated correctly
* Support internal and external audits and drive continuous improvements across finance processes
To be successful in this Financial Accountant role, you will ideally have:
* Proven experience within financial accounting, ideally within manufacturing or retail
* Strong technical knowledge of payroll reconciliations, AP, AR, and cash management
* Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, alongside strong Excel skills
* Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
* Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) would be advantageous
