Overview
This role involves extending opportunities for all pupils to participate in extracurricular activities and contributes to promoting health and wellbeing across the primary schools. The role supports the class teacher and local school sport infrastructure to deliver Physical Education. As an apprentice learner, you will develop knowledge and understanding in other areas within a school setting such as community sport.
Responsibilities
* Deliver active lunchtimes and support after-school and community sport.
* Take on more responsibility within the school setting.
* Provide a greater supporting role in PE and Physical Activity Sessions.
* Liaise with School Games Organisers to help organise Festivals and Competitions.
* Provide greater emphasis of support in a classroom-based setting to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours.
* Engage within community sport to further develop your skills.
Strong Interpersonal Skills
* Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* Effective communication – clear and confident verbal and written communication skills.
* Teamwork – ability to work effectively as part of a team to support teaching and learning.
Requirements and Pathways
If you have a desire to improve and inspire the lives of others to be physically active, then this is the role for you. For the right person, there is a potential pathway within school sport.
Your assessment will include a portfolio of evidence, practical observations and professional discussion. As a requirement of entry, you must have GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (Grade C), or above or undertake the Level 2 Functional Skills qualification as part of this apprenticeship.
Please note, as this role involves travelling between primary schools on a regular basis, a driving licence and access to transport is required.

Employment Details
Salary: Apprentice Pay Rate/ National Minimum wage as applicable.
Hours of Work: Term time only (39 weeks per year) / 37 hours per week.
Working Pattern: Core hours between 8.00 am - 4.15 pm.
Start Date: November 2025.
