Role - Electrical Senior Design Engineer
Location - Warrington (Other locations may be considered)
Purpose of the role:
The Electrical Senior Design Engineer will be a key member of the Engineering Design Team, working with Principal Engineers, Design Managers, and Design Leads to deliver high-quality designs in compliance with GT processes, BMS, and H&S Regulations. This technical role requires expertise in design delivery within the water and wastewater industry, with potential line management responsibilities.
The role involves providing technical guidance, ensuring design integration, supporting procurement and site activities, and mentoring early-career engineers.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring technical compliance and quality of design outputs.
* Leading discipline-specific project design efforts.
* Optimizing designs for cost and operational efficiency.
* Supporting compliance with CDM regulations.
* Designing for buildability, safety, and operation.
* Adhering to procedural governance and client standards.
* Promoting innovation and digital design practices.
* Resolving technical issues throughout project lifecycle.
* Contributing to pre-contract design activities.
* Sharing lessons learned and mentoring team members.
Candidate Requirements:
* Proficiency in ETAP, AutoCAD/Draftsight, and electrical design documentation.
* Experience with HV & LV modelling, protection studies, and system calculations.
* Knowledge of C&G BS Wiring Regulations, NICEIC standards, and HV standards.
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent; Chartered status preferred.
* Extensive experience in municipal water/wastewater industries.
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* IT skills in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and performance management systems.
