An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the operations training department as a trainer delivering Officer Safety Training and first aid to officers and staff across the Force. This is currently a fixed-term casual contract with the hours determined according to operational need.
The duties involved in this role require someone to be physically fit, able to have full range of movement in their body and be able to complete a multitude of physical movements daily.

Job description
This role ensures that Officers and Staff in Northamptonshire Police achieve the required standard in knowledge, skills, and behaviours to best protect themselves, their colleagues, and members of public.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To deliver Officer Safety and First Aid training in line with relevant training curriculum, Manuals of Guidance, National and Force policy
2. To plan, design, deliver and evaluate Core training programs to Police Officers, Special Constables and staff as directed by the Core Skills Training Sergeant. The role also involves supporting the Core Skills Sergeant in the management and assessment of Student Officers.
3. To appraise students of strengths and areas for development, including counselling and coaching as appropriate.
4. To develop and deliver training that maintains an operational capability and meets the needs of the Force Strategic Threat and Risk. To ensure that appropriate delivery methods are used, that training objectives have been achieved, and alternative delivery methods and formats have been considered.
5. Ideally the applicant should be TEP PPST and FREC qualified.
6. To actively promote and support diversity and people's individuals needs and to monitor and maintain standards of professional conduct and integrity. To deliver training to diverse audiences ensuring that you use an appropriate communication style, operate equipment correctly and represent the values of the Service and department.
7. To manage the operational requirements of officer safety training and first aid, ensuring compliance with Risk Assessments, Health & Safety legislation and Force policy.
8. To maintain effective records to demonstrate that all training delivery complies with legislation, policy, procedures, and meets best practice and assist in maintaining up-to-date and accurate training records for all personnel undertaking training delivered by the Operations Training Department.
9. To be flexible and prepared to work at varied training locations as planned.
