Overview
Veterinary Surgeon – West London
Role details
This practice in West London is ready to welcome a confident, community-minded vet who’s looking to take ownership of their own client base while enjoying the backing of a supportive team. If you’re someone who thrives in a first-opinion setting and values both independence and collaboration, this could be the perfect fit.
Hours and environment
This is a GP role offering 35–40 hours per week, including a 1-in-3 Saturday rota and a 1-in-8 Sunday shift at the main Hospital. You’ll also be scheduled for just one bank holiday per year. There are no on-call requirements, so your evenings are your own.
Team and support
You’ll be supported by a part-time senior vet who works mornings, as well as a skilled RVN and enthusiastic trainee nurses. The regional manager and newly appointed regional head vet are also on hand to offer guidance and clinical support whenever needed.
Practice and opportunities
The practice itself is well-equipped and particularly suited to someone with a surgical interest. The previous vet specialised in orthopaedics, so the setup includes everything you’d expect — plus dental x-ray for those keen to develop their dentistry skills. For more complex cases and out-of-hours care, you’ll have full support from the main Hospital. The hospital offers advanced diagnostics including a new CT scanner, a diploma-holding imaging specialist, and a team of experienced surgeons performing high-level orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures. Your patients will be in excellent hands.
Remuneration and benefits
Salary between £45,000 and £65,000 (FTE), depending on experience, with plenty of room to grow. You’ll also enjoy 6.6 weeks of annual leave including bank holidays, generous relocation assistance if needed, up to £2,000 CPD budget per year with five days’ paid CPD leave, and private medical insurance through Bupa.
