Senior Project Quantity Surveyor – Clean Energy Generation
Leading project developer in renewable energy assets across the UK is seeking a Senior Project Quantity Surveyor. The role involves supporting project delivery from development through construction and handover, managing contracts, and overseeing high-value projects including Energy Storage Assets (+100MW), H2 Ready Thermal Power Plants, and Green Hydrogen Electrolysis Assets, involving high-value equipment, M&E, and civils activities.
The ideal candidate will oversee risk and value management, drive subcontractor performance, and manage quality. Experience in M&E, Renewables, O&G, Thermal power, or large-scale infrastructure such as Data Centres or Civil Infrastructure is desirable.
Key Requirements:
* Experience with various contract forms, especially NEC contracts (ECC Accredited Project Manager qualification preferred but not essential)
* Experience with heavy Civils/M&E/Energy works in a main/principal contractor setting (not essential)
* Experience on contracts exceeding £10m for principal contractors (desirable)
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead change management processes, maintain effective change control procedures, manage risk and early warning registers, and react proactively to variations to minimize costs
* Prepare enquiry documents, review work scopes, conduct T&C reviews, negotiate contracts, and draft final order documentation
* Manage contractor accounts, assess and process payments, and issue notices for payments
* Identify and challenge disallowed costs
* Maintain internal cost plans, earned value recognition, and report to senior management
* Provide commercial support and advice to site management
* Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders
