As a Care Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the nursing and other care staff to implement the care plans of our discharge to access and dementia patients at Schoen Clinic York. The nursing staff will decide the detailed care plans in conjunction with best practice (e.g., NICE guidelines), and the Care Assistants will participate in the development and implementation of daily activities to support the care plans.
Here are some of the key things you'll be responsible for:
Support service users with activities of daily living including mealtimes, continence support, dressing, personal care.
Work within the Health and Safety policies in accordance with Schoen Clinic guidelines;
Demonstrate awareness of safeguarding principles in all dealings with service users and their families
Complete all relevant paperwork as required and without delay, including reporting incidents where appropriate.
Provide compassionate and quality led care during activities.

Skills & requirements The successful candidate will have a good standard of education, with an NVQ level 2 in health and social care or equivalent length of experience and be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
Working within a healthcare setting is essential however working within dementia is not as we will provide you with a full robust induction. You must also have an understanding of the mental health act, mental capacity act, safeguarding of patients and human rights.
