Job Summary
The Operations Supervisor will be working for TWM (Timber Frame Manufacturing), which exclusively produces Timber Frame Houses for Taylor Wimpey, delivering to all Business Units (BUs). This role is key to maintaining strong working relationships with all BU teams and may involve hands-on support to help deliver the Build Programme when required. The Operations Supervisor also serves as a primary point of contact for the BUs, responsible for reporting and documenting key data and issues critical to the success of TWM’s operations.
Primary Responsibilities
Pre-Start Responsibilities
* Attend BU’s Team Meetings in the Operational Manager’s absence
* Assist BU’s Production Team with the Build Programme
* Attend BU’s Team Meetings to monitor progress of the Build Programme to identify any issues that may put critical dates at risk
* Assist the Operations Manager to adjust Construction Programmes prior to issuing to the Planning dept.
Assist the BU in the Selection of Installation Subcontractors from Approved List
* Appointment of install teams and understanding of the agreed scope of works, Health & Safety requirements, the Build Programme and agreed method of construction
* Assist the BU to ensure that appropriate Health & Safety documentation is in place
Issue of Contractual Correspondence
* Operation Supervisors are responsible for communicating any Construction Programme changes to the Operations Manager
* Assist BU’s quality inspection of the Timber Frame erection process
Communication
* Communicate weekly Site Progress Report (if affecting the Programme) to the Operations Manager
* Inform the Operations Manager of any budget/financial issues
* Inform the Operations Manager of any site delays
Co-ordinate all operations
* Assist construction and inspection of the Timber Frame
* Advise BU’s on supply-only deliveries
* Advise scheduling department on material shortages immediately indicating reason
* Advise TWM team of any on-site design/construction issues including details and possible solution
* Assist in resolving erector/BU disputes
Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements
* Carpentry trade background
* Communication Skills
* Supervisory Experience
* Construction Health and Safety Qualification
* Basic IT skills Microsoft packages
